Learn the Oothukkadu Venkata Kavi Saptaratna krithi in Paras raga, Aalavadennalo, set to Adi tala, taught by Shri Chitravina N Ravikiran in this video lesson.Of the seven Saptaratna Krithis composed by the 17th century, poet-musician-composer Oothukkadu Venkata Kavi, this is the only composition in the Tamil language. While this composition is in praise of Lord Shiva, its charanam consists of a series of swaram and sahithyam which list out the names of all the 63 Nayanmars. It is the only such Carnatic music composition that includes all of their names. The composer has also brought out the beauty of the rare ragam Paras in an intricate and complex manner.
